| About Rector  He was born on June,6,1952 in Sortovala town (Kareliya, Russia) in the family of military officer. 1969 - Finished school N» 45 of Kharkov. From 1969 - Studying in the higher command-engineering school of rocket troops of Kharkov. Finished in 1974. 1974 - 1977 - Service is in troops( Orenburg, Russia) 1977 - 1980 - Graduate in KVVKU RV. 1980 - Protected candidate’s dissertation on the special theme in the field of management. From 1980 is on the field of teaching. 1986 - 1989 - Head of the Department of Automated control systems. 1989-2000 - Head of the Faculty of Automated control systems of the Kharkov Military University. 1990- Received the rank of colonel. 1992 - Received the title of professor of automatic control systems. 2000-2002 - Public service - Deputy Head of the domestic policy of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. 2006- Protected his doctoral dissertation on the special theme in the field of creating complex special management systems. 2002-2006 - Deputy mayor of Kharkov on humanitarian questions. 2007-2010 - Dean of the Faculty Computer Science and Head of Department of Security Information Systems and Technology of Karazin Kharkiv National University. From 2011 - Rector of the Ukrainian academy of Customs. 2011 - received the special title of counselor of the customs service the 1st rank. Education - Higher: 1969-1974 - Kharkov VVKU RV on specialty "Automatic control systems". 1996 - 2000 - Kharkov Engineering - economic University on the specialty "Management of Organization" Honorable and academic titles: Honorable Inventor of Ukraine - 1992 Professor- 1992 (department of Automatic Systems of Management) Doctor of Technological Sciences - 2006 Academician of International Academy of Science of Applied Radio Electronics -2000 Academician of Ukrainian Academy of Economics - 2011 Public activities: Dzerjinsk Distinct Deputy in Kharkiv city’s council of four convocations (1990-2006) Kharkiv Municipal Council Deputy (2006-2010) Recipient of medals from Ministry of defense, letters of commendation from the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine (2007), Kharkiv regional state administration (2005, 2007), from Kharkiv mayor (2001, 2006,2007), Kharkiv city council (2009), three times became a laureate of annual regional rating "The resident of Kharkiv" (2003, 2004, 2005) Fields of scientific interests: Optimization of excess systems and methods of data handling and data transmission. Mathematical methods and means of treatment of signal and code structures. Development of theory of information systems and technologies protection. Main academic disciplines: Fundamentals of information and coding theory; The theory of electric connection; Safety of information systems and technologies; Scientific works: Leonid Stepanovich Soroka is an author of more than 230 scientific works (including more than 130 inventions and patents, 5 monographs, 4 textbooks, 18 study manuals), a member of two specialized Academic Senates, including a Head of specialized academic senate of the defence of doctoral dissertation D 64.051.09 (specialty - mathematical modeling and counting methods "01.05.02" and information technologies "05.13.06"), the deputy chief of the council of experts of the Ukrainian Commission of Assessment of the defense and defence-industrial complex issues.
